Indians, Mexicans, and Bandits.
A condensed story of the life and adventures of William Alexander “Big Foot” Wallace who fought Comanche Indians, Mexicans, and bandits. While as a young man in Virginia, his brother and cousin were murdered during the Texas Revolution with Fannin at Goliad. William stated he was going to Texas to avenge his brother and cousin’s death. He set out for Texas to “take pay out of the Mexicans.” A good many years later he told friend John C. Duval that he believed the account had been squared. The old warrior died on January 7, 1899 and is buried in the Texas State Cemetery at Austin. His name in Texas is what Daniel Boone’s name was to Kentucky.
