(January 31, 1862 - June 8, 1892)
Bob Ford entered the old west history books by killing Jesse James.
Bob Ford was probably born in Virginia.
Jesse was putting together a new gang after the disaster in Northfield, MN and chose Bob and Charley Ford. In hopes of collecting the $10,000 reward money, Bob Ford shot Jesse as he was straightening a needlepoint hanging on the wall.
Although pardoned by the governor of Missouri, it was public sentiment that drove Bob Ford west. In Creede, Colorado, Bob opened a saloon and was killed by Ed O. Kelly.
Bob Ford is buried in the Richmond Cemetery in Richmond, Missouri. The date of birth for Bob Ford on his headstone is incorrect. Charley Ford is buried nearby.

A collection of newspaper articles, documents and drawings related to Bob Ford. A very likeable book with great references.
The Man Who Shot Jesse James by Carl Breihan
A book with some good information on Bob Ford, but Breihan once again lapses into the use of dialogue to tell the story. How does he know the exact exchange of words.... Breihan doesn't.
